Life After 20 Years in the Navy. Made about six major investments with friends.
Retired from the Navy in 1983. Contacted with a relator in northern Virginia, I gave her power of attorney to find and do the required paperwork to purchase a house for me that I liked. Moved from Chesapeake Virginia to Woodbridge Virginia upon retiring from the navy. Both Brian and Jason helped me load up a big U-Haul and headed north.
The adventure begins in my new life. Was hired by Steward & Stevenson from Texas to be their on-site technical representative to the US Navy at NAVSEA and Navy Yard for support of S&S Gas Turbine and Generators Sets. Had a office in Rosslyn and later was transferred to a military civilian contractor in Crystal City to do same work for S&S. Had an office at support company and a desk in the navy yard, life was different but good without full navy control.
Being a single dad with two boys who lived with me on weekends I joined Parents Without Partners. Met a lot of great people and the new love of my life. PWP created mega activities for both parents and children who needed support. In this support group I met many individuals I would become lifelong friends with and some of whom I would become business partners with. Brenda was in PWP with Brad and Erin. With Brian, Jason and I we became a family that supported each other.
